Marking an important day with a brand new When Love Hurts podcast
The first episodes drop today, November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. Join our voices to end men’s violence against women.

44% of women and girls worldwide will experience abuse from a partner. In Canada, 1 in 3 women report experiences of partner abuse, but many do not report. The World Health Organization calls violence against women a global epidemic.
As coaches, HR professionals, leaders, colleagues, family and friends, woman abuse is impacting someone we care about.
As an author, researcher, educator and coach, much of my professional career has been advocating to end violence against women. In my four decades of working in this field, I’ve encountered so much misinformation about woman abuse. Everyone from cab drivers to professionals have opinions about women and the abuse they experience. Very little of it is reflective of women’s lived experiences of abuse.
So, on this day, November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, I want to invite others to learn more about woman abuse and its impacts. And even more aspirationally, let’s imagine the goal of full equality, safety and freedom for women and girls world-wide.
This bigger picture goal of eliminating woman abuse is part of what inspired my co-author Karen McAndless-Davis and I to co-create a When Love Hurts podcast with counsellors Jo Neill and Alison Epp. This podcast is based on the book, by Karen and I, When Love Hurts: A woman’s guide to understanding abuse in relationships, and our decades of experience working with women.
We hope our new podcast can help to amplify women’s voices, expand your skills and accelerate change. Please feel free to share.
